Homemade Gummy Bear Recipe

This is a great summer time activity to do at home with your kids! My daughter is 2.5 and helped me with no issue (I just made sure everything was cooled down when she was helping me stir and fill the molds!). What I love about this too is you can come up with your own flavors and do a variety - you can also use them for other things like healthy/elderberry gummies or make seasonal ones by color depending on the holiday! I’ve also heard of people making ‘adult’ versions with alcohol…the possibilities are endless haha.
Here’s what we used for ours:
  • 1 cup of fruit juice of choice (we did raspberry lemonade)
  • 1/4 tsp of liquid stevia
  • 3 packets of unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice (you could do a bit more if your juice doesn't contain lemon, but ours did!)
We used these gummy bear molds and I highly recommend them (esp if you have multiple kids who will be helping you!) because they include the little droppers! Makes it super simple and less of a mess to pour into the molds!
Place your molds on a cookie sheet to make it easier when you transfer them to the fridge.
In a sauce pan, bring the juice to a boil.
Remove from heat, add in stevia and lemon juice.
SLOWLY mix in the gelatin packets. Do NOT throw them all in at once or even 1 packet in at a time, because it will clump.
Let it cool for about 3-4 min before adding the mixture into the molds. Refrigerate them for 3 hours and remove them from the molds.
Enjoy!!! Tag me if you make them, I'd love to see! :)
Can you tell Honey really, really loved these gummy bears!? Her brothers did, too!!
